As always, so many interesting things come out of these chats! Here are a few of the things I learnt this week:
1. Stuffed animals come scented! (I think this is more of a reflection of how behind the times I am, but it was super entertaining to be in a chat where 2 people in 2 different countries pulled out matching stuffed animals!) You never know what we have in common :)
2. Newspapers still do house deliveries, 7 days a week!
3. In Ireland, automatic cars don't handle the country roads as well as standard/manual cars, so most cars are manual. Where as here in Canada, most cars are automatic, and being able to drive a standard is not the norm. Also, the 'emergency-brake' is better known internationally as a 'hand-brake'. Yes, English is our common language in DinnerTalk, but there are still so many words and phrases that differ between countries!
