Before I get into this week's three things, I want to say that I really enjoyed the chats about home. I wasn't sure about putting it as a question, because it is so personalized. But it was really interesting to hear what home means to everyone! Now, on to this week's three things:
1. For those who live in a drive-in community in Canada’s Arctic, river ferry crossings are common on the highway to the town. In the winter, however, ferries can’t run so the only way to travel across the rivers is to drive on the ice, but that doesn't happen until it is 4 feet (122 cm) thick. During the time between the last ferry crossing and the ice freezing thick enough, everything has to be flown in, so the price of goods can become very, very expensive with the additional cost of air freight. Butter and milk, for example, could double in price until the trucks can deliver the goods to town again!
2. Have you heard of Dinner For One? It is a short English comedy skit, and in Germany it is a popular tradition to watch it on New Year's Eve. Some people eat/drink along with it too! Ironically, the skit is not commonly known in the UK.
3. I'm a person who NEEDS lots of sunlight and time outdoors, so I've always wondered about computer gamers who can spend hours upon hours inside on the computer. It was finally explained to me this week that the same emotional rewards and positive experiences that I get from being outside and in the sunshine, are what gamers get from being inside the game! Not to mention that these games are highly social too!
'Till next week!

Great Post. I'm curious about the show Dinner for one. I'll take a look at it. Thanks for sharing.
