Asking, 'what is something native to your homeland or current country, that outsiders wouldn't likely know about' really gave narrowing this week's three things down to three tricky!
1. When you think about cuisine in India, do you think about how it changes from region to region? This week I learnt that each region has very different cuisines, and that the Jain population especially has a unique cuisine. The Jain people are vegetarian, but they also do not eat root vegetables (potatoes, beets, etc.), garlic and onions. I've always been self-conscious about smelling like garlic, so that sounds pretty good to me!
2. If you'd like to be distracted for a bit, head over to:
We learnt about the Wadden Islands in the Netherlands in one of our chats, and since they sounded so interesting (no cars on one, another being the 'Venice of the North', and lots of spectacular beaches!), I thought I'd check them out online. I've been scrolling through the website for quite a few minutes now, so I'll send you there for some fun reading and looking at great pictures!
3. Penang, Malaysia has come up multiple times, often because of how good the food is there. (I'm thinking, potential location for the future DinnerTalk reunion?!) But this time when it came up, it was also the tea that was talked about! The Penang masala chai tea is spicy, where as normal masala chai tea isn't. I'm so curious to try it!
'Till next week!
