3 things I learnt (Feb. 15)

skyelarlee

Who would have thought the topic, 'unusual sandwiches', would become such a great topic question?! We had a clear winner: raw onion and oranges on bread (with a bit of butter) - a particular favorite for a participant's family member!

1. Last week I wrote about the UK's 'chip butty' sandwich. Only to learn this week, that the Irish too have the chip butty, but theirs has thin sliced cheese and onion flavoured potato chips (crisps) in it, as opposed to french fries!

2. The Dutch people have an open-faced breakfast sandwich called hagelslag, which is bread, unsalted butter, and chocolate sprinkles! I'm thinking one day in the near future we'll have to do a national breakfast food chat, as I'm quickly learning that every country has their own unique breakfasts!

3. Pet pigs need their hooves and tusks trimmed! You know, just in case you ever thought about what type of care owning a pig might involve :)

'til next week!
