It is always neat when our similarities, despite being thousands of kilometers (and oceans apart!) are highlighted.
1. This week was the second time now that two people have pulled out matching items, despite being on the other side of the world from each other! This time it was a blanket from Avoca. Avoca is an Irish company with a very diverse range of local products (think food to blankets). Their website sums them up best - "discover the small but interesting world of Avoca"! 2. Oculus (a virtual reality game) is owned by Facebook, so in order to play an Oculus game, you must have an active Facebook account. I'm not a gamer, so this was all new to me, but I learnt that it is A BIG DEAL (and not in a good way) in the gaming community!
3. Have you ever experienced your mouth feeling funny after eating fresh pineapple? It turns out that the funny feeling is actually the enzyme bromelain at work. Bromelain is an enzyme that digests protein, and the funny feeling is it digesting the tender skin inside your mouth! To avoid this, don't eat the core, as the highest concentrations of bromelain are found there.
